Witaj! Welcome! This is the way our Comenius Polish colleagues from Wroclaw and Kepno welcomed us, Raffaella Bergonzi and Annamaria Sottilaro teachers at Liceo Scientifico “Orazio Grassi”, on the occasion of the Comenius teachers’ Conference they organized from 20th to 25th October 2013.
There we joined all the teachers responsible for the Comenius Exchange Programme in Gymnasium Ulricianum Aurich (Germany); Gymnazium Pribram (Czech Republic); Ungdomsskole Vollen (Norway);Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Nr 1 Kepno (Poland ); XIII Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Wroclaw (Poland).
It was like meeting old friends after years of common work , collaboration, bilateral exchanges, international teachers and students’ conferences.
To us Comenius is not just an interesting and involving job, but a sharing of deeper bonds .
We are convinced only mutual knowledge can overcome the barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding which are more deeply rooted than national boundaries and so dangerous for the growth of a real European Union.
Once more we experienced a rela intense days with our colleagues while planning the project for the students’ conference which our liceo “Orazio Grassi “ is honoured to host between 27th March 3rd April 2014.
We are proud of having given life to this Comenius project which has been going on for six years just thanks to our commitment and our strong beliefs in the need for a United Europe.
The main aim has always been educating our students to the awareness of being European citizens able to get the opportunities that Europe can offer them .
We came back from the meeting in Wroclaw and Kepno with plenty of new ideas to develop in the course of the project, more and more convinced that unity is reached by means of the knowledge , acceptance and respect of cultural diversities .
Just direct experience can make you understand and love the others without being afraid of differences.
May everybody enjoy “ Europe “!
